The short version
We collect your email address and your quiz answers. We use them to send you the things you asked for: your Protection Plan, the PMP Score email, and follow-up on your plan. We don't sell your information. We don't run ads. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data at any time.
1. What we collect
Information you give us:
- Email address — when you ask for your Protection Plan or the PMP Score email.
- Quiz answers and scores — your responses to the Protection Check and the pillar scores calculated from them, including your score history when you re-take a pillar.
- Payment information — if you become a member. Card details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your card number.
- Anything you send us — feedback, support emails, founding-tester input.
Information collected automatically:
- Basic technical data — standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) via our hosting provider, used for security and to keep the site working.
- Local storage on your device — the site saves your in-progress quiz answers in your own browser so a page refresh doesn't erase your check. This stays on your device until you clear it.
- We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share data for advertising.
2. What we use it for
- To deliver what you requested: your Protection Plan email, the PMP Score email at the frequency you chose, follow-up emails about your plan, and progress updates when you re-check a pillar.
- To run your membership: billing, renewal notices, and access to member emails.
- To improve the product: aggregate statistics (for example, how many people complete a pillar) that don't identify you.
- To meet legal obligations and keep the service secure.
We send marketing-adjacent email only as part of the lists you joined. Every email includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
3. Who we share it with (our service providers)
We use a small number of companies to run the service. They process your data on our behalf, under their own privacy and security commitments:
- Kit (ConvertKit) — stores your email address, your scores, and your email preferences; sends our emails.
- Stripe — processes membership payments; holds your payment details.
- Cloudflare — hosts the website and processes quiz submissions.
- Google (Google Sheets) — stores your score history so we can show your progress over time.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
4. How long we keep it
- Email address, preferences, and scores: for as long as you're subscribed or a member, and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping.
- If you unsubscribe from everything, your address stays on a suppression list (so we don't accidentally email you again) but is no longer used.
- If you ask us to delete your data, we delete your records from our systems and instruct our service providers to do the same, except where the law requires retention (for example, payment records).
5. Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe: one click, at the bottom of every email.
- Access, correct, or delete your data: email info@protectmyportfolio.com and we'll handle it — no forms, no runaround.
- California residents: you have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We don't sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of selling.
- Do Not Track: the site doesn't track you across other sites, so there's nothing DNT would change.
6. Security
Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe. Email and score data are held by the providers above, each with industry-standard security. No system is perfectly secure, but we deliberately keep the data we hold to the minimum the service needs.
7. Children
This service is for adults planning retirement. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
8. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so plainly — a note in the email you already receive, not a silent edit. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version.
9. Not advice
